Is using insurance for nutrition visits really a thing?

Yes! Most health insurance companies cover nutritional counseling.

What is covered?

This depends on your type of plan but many will cover unlimited visits. There are a TON of plans out there with varying degrees of coverage. Calling your insurance carrier and asking some key questions will help to ensure you know your specific coverage.

Are you in my network?

We are in-network with most Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plans. If you have another carrier or an HMO plan, you can still see us!! You will self-pay for your appointments and we will issue you a super bill for you to seek reimbursement. You will need to verify your benefits either way so we can help you maximize the likelihood of reimbursement.

What if my appointment is not covered by my health insurance?

In the event, that your claim is denied for lack of nutrition coverage the cost for appointments is $140 for your initial 60-minute session. Follow-up visits are $140 for 55 minutes and $85 for 25 minutes. We accept HSA/FSA cards and all major credit cards.

Great question! We don't want you to be surprised by a denial and you pay top dollar every month for your insurance plan. We want to make sure you understand everything that is available to you for this investment.

Do I have to verify my benefits before my visit with the dietitian?

Yep! Your benefits may determine your number and frequency of appointments. This will help your dietitian set a plan of action for you to achieve your health goals. This is a part of our onboarding policy to ensure you are ready to roll when you start working with your dietitian.
